Expert Witness Services
in Singapore

Independent, court-ready expert reports by registered Professional Engineers, Doctors and Technical Specialists — for litigation, arbitration, mediation and insurance disputes.

What Is an Expert Witness?

In Singapore civil proceedings, an expert witness is a person with specialised knowledge who is permitted to give opinion evidence on technical matters — something ordinary witnesses cannot do. Courts, the Small Claims Tribunal, SIAC arbitrations and insurance negotiations all rely on expert reports to resolve complex technical disputes.

PE Consultants provides qualified, independent expert witnesses across engineering, medical and construction disciplines. Our experts are recognised by Singapore courts and have experience giving evidence in the High Court, District Court, SIAC and SIMC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from homeowners, lawyers and contractors engaging an expert witness for the first time.

Do I need a lawyer to engage an expert witness?
No. You can engage PE Consultants directly, whether or not you have legal representation. Many clients approach us first to understand the technical merits of their case before deciding to litigate.
How long does it take to prepare an expert report?
Typically 2–4 weeks from site inspection, depending on complexity and any laboratory testing required. Urgent reports can be arranged for time-sensitive proceedings.
Will your expert attend court or arbitration?
Yes. Our experts are available to attend hearings, give oral testimony, participate in expert conferencing and respond to cross-examination.
Can you provide a rebuttal to an opposing expert report?
Yes. We regularly prepare rebuttal reports challenging the methodology, assumptions or conclusions of opposing expert evidence.
Is your expert independent?
Our duty is to the court, not to any party. We provide objective, independent technical opinions consistent with the requirements of the Singapore Civil Procedure Rules and professional engineering ethics.
